finding the courage to do hard things

The mind is a sneaky little beast…Pulling us back when we try to make a change.

This is not safe. Don’t go there. Turn around before it’s too late.

Despite being a coach, I don’t always feel great.

I don’t always feel confident. My body is not always in a state of calm.

But, I move forward.

We have to keep moving.

We have to take that leap despite the voice saying no. Despite the “what if’s” that fill our mind. Despite the unknowns.

I’ve been in that place where I let fear stop me…

Making a work change, moving, or even simple things like facing phobias and intrusive thoughts.

And, I have to catch myself. Oh, there you are again, my little friend.

This isn’t about stopping the fear.

I want to repeat that loud and clear. Fear isn’t going away.

You won’t wake up and feel the courage. So, let’s stop waiting for that to happen.

You can allow fear to be there, whether in the passenger seat or backseat, but never again in the driver seat.

So, how about trying on this mantra:

I will never let fear stop me from doing something I want to do.

Try it…Say that out loud. How does it feel?

Can you allow that to take up some space in your body?

Perhaps allow that to sink a little farther in. Dance while feeling into it. Meditate on it.

If it doesn’t feel true at first, that’s ok too. It’s new! Our brains have a hard time with new beliefs, especially ones that move us away from the familiar. Expect this to take some time. Expect it to be hard. That’s ok.

If you are finding fear is stopping you, I challenge you to drop in this new belief.

If you would like additional support bringing this belief into truth in your body,

drop me a line for a one-on-one coaching session.

Much love,

Dr. Camden
